Hence how the Optimized Battle Rifle (OBR) name came to be.Kind of an old school gun, but definitely a new school optic. The Leupold Mk 6 is nuts. It’s like the Canon 2.8 20-70 II of rifle scopes. All the tech developed in the Mk 8 CQBSS put into a more affordable scope. The Mk 8 went from $5K a pop (SASS Carbine issue optic contender?) to $3K a pop in the last two years.

An Afghan National Army commando with 3rd Company, 1st Special Operations Kandak, pulls security from a window in a compound during a clearing operation in Khugyani district, Nangarhar province, Afghanistan. Afghan and coalition forces conducted the operation in order to disrupt insurgent networks and support Afghan Local Police efforts in the area.
